Lebz Café’s Journey from Recovery to Retail Success
Lebz Café is a story of resilience, growth and entrepreneurial determination. After navigating the challenges brought on by COVID-19, the business set its sights on rebuilding and expanding its footprint in the coffee industry

They received funding through our Enterprise Development program. In FY24 we provided him with R70k funding that allowed him to resuscitate their business after closing due to COVID-19.
After 1 year of operating, they approached us again for funding to expand and become compliant for supplying retailers. Their tenacity and resilience spoke to us as a business that empowers and celebrates the entrepreneurship.
LebzCafé is a South African coffee company specializing in 100% freeze-dried premium instant coffee.
We provided funding of R631,645 to support the establishment of a coffee shop in Sebokeng, covering 12 months of rental, furnishing, purchase of a coffee roaster, coffee beans, packaging, marketing materials, and food certification to enable supply to large retailers.
The funding also facilitated the setting up of an in-house roastery, provided rental space, and included training for the director of the coffee shop. Additionally, they employed two employees.
The business now supplies coffee to Makro online and Pick n Pay customers. We are all about going the extra mile.
